Ranthambhore is a national park and wildlife sanctuary where we spent
two days on safari and in a tented camp. There is also another major
hilltop fort which we didn't explore but which has a commanding view of
the park. The safari experience was vastly different from an African
safari in terms of the landscape and the animals, but equally
interesting. We saw some phenomenal banyan trees, as well as a fair
amount of spotted deer, sambar (larger deer), crocodiles, peacocks,
monkeys, various birds, and one spectacular up-close view of a tiger.
