The Great Hall of the People
is the home to the People's Congress of China. Once a year the
governors from all of the provinces come to Beijing and meet here to
discuss central Government issues.
This year's meeting was
going on while we were there and every day the English newspaper covered
their discussions. Main topics of discussion were Social
Security, human rights and economic policy (sound familiar?).
