Part of the same walking tour down the riverside Path
of Philosophy landed us at Eikan-do, a nearby temple founded in 855. We
weren't allowed to photograph most of the Buddhist temple interiors, but
they were fairly stark, with wooden floors and simple altars in the
middle of very large, open plan rooms.
